So, I love the Disney Princesses and some people on ehre do too. So, I wanted to start a blog post for discussion on them. xD I feel so girly. Here are some of my thoughts, feel free to debate them:
Beauty and the Beast[]
So, in Beauty and the Beast, the prince's castle goes out of commision. That is understood. But for all those years, the little village around the castle had to have been rules by someone. Whoever they were, after the Beast becomes a Prince, how do you guys think they felt about a new rising monarchy in their midst? What would have happened after: war, kidnapping of the prince and princess, revolution?
Cinderella[]
Yes, okay, the Prince only fell in love with ehr because she was pretty. But maybe they sort of got to know each other. Anyway, Cinderella still had some great character qualities. I mean, after the dance, she pretty much knew there was little chance she'd ever see him again. But she didn't whine. She has this great bounce-back resilience that allowed her to accept that last night was a fairytale, but now the fairytale's over.
So, that aside, what do you guys think might have happened had Cinderella been ugly? Or if the evil stepsisters had been beautiful? Or both?
The Little Mermaid[]
Oh. My. Gosh. Since this is open to debate, I don;t want to be mean to fans, so I;m saying this now: please, let's agree to disagree and debate about it, btu int he end, respect opinions as opinions.
I have to say, I really don't like this one. I mean, after Ursula took away her voice, she goes off to see Prince Eric. And yes, they fall in love. But they don;t say a single word to each other. Not. A. Single. Word.
In Cinderella, they talked while they were dancing. So even thy got to know each other. In Sleeping Beauty, the guy who woke her was DESTINED to be her true love anyway, and they had met in the forest beforehand. Snow White: Well, okay, but there still isn't evidence to prove that they didn't speak before they got married, and the same: he was destined to be her true love.
But with Ariel, she was scientifically proen, with evidence, not to have been able to speak. So there was no way they talked. However, after she got her voice back, they got married. Like, immedeatley. No talking involved. I mean, what if Ariel had been a cruel, evil, hoarding maniac? Eric would not have known since he never talked to her. She just smiled charmingly throughout the movie as Ursula pranced around evilly. Brushed her hair with a fork. Yadda yadda yadda.
Anything Else?[]
